The Brothers Bloom
Rian Johnson 2008 | Feature
Quite simply, one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in years. Original, well-written, very well designed and photographed. You care about the characters, and the plot is far from formulaic. I loved it.

Sombrero

This is a really fine piece of work. I met the filmmaker the other night and, because he was so likable, I really wanted this film to be good. I'm happy to say it's laugh-out-loud funny, totally real, very human and very wise. Superbly and cleverly shot, and very well edited. The acting is uniformly excellent. A real hoot! Way to go.

The Watermelon
Brad Mays | Feature
I feel it necessary to point out that I did not rate my own film, despite appearances. A nefarious friend of mine had access to my laptop and performed the deed right under my nose. And while I do not take issue with her judgment, I wish she had committed this crime under her own name.
