On a cold Milwaukee night, high art meets pop culture as the music of William Shatner ('Star Trek,' 'Boston Legal') and Ben Folds (Ben Folds
Five), from their critically acclaimed album, 'Has Been,' is transformed into 'Common People,' a ballet from award winning choreographer Margo
Sappington ('Oh! Caluctta!).
GONZO BALLET explores this unique collaboration, as well as the musical journey that has taken William Shatner from the trippy covers of 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' and 'Mr. Tambourine Man' in the 1960's to his recent original work with Ben Folds, and finally, to the ballet. * 'WINNER' President's Award - Nashville Film Festival * West Coast Premiere * William Shatner in attendance * Presented by SDNN.com |

Shatner is quite entertaining in this documentary; and, the epic thoughts he shares with us hit home with everyone! This was a great movie; and, if you enjoy the arts - dance, music, or words, words, words, you will love it all the more. I LOVED the performance idea -- seeing awesome dance performances choreographed to popular music and Shatner's narrative.
